Henry Wicks had waited all term to get 'Sewer of the Day' and he achieved it on the last Wednesday before Easter with style. We made signs reading 'Easter Bunny - Please stop here!' by sewing felt rabbits directly onto thick card and then lightly stuffing them to give them a 3D look. Henry's egg cosy won him the award because it had the cheekiest look to it! By using a small amount of red chalk onto white felt we created a slight blush giving the chicks face real appeal! Well done Henry!

wSew is delighted to have been successful in a recent application for a Business Development Grant from Eastleigh Borough Council.  The council have agreed to part fund the purchase of 5 brand new Brother electric machines which will be available for adults and secondary school aged young people to learn on.  It will be fantastic to have a set of new modern machines - thank you Eastleigh Borough Council Business Development Team!

Two after school classes now being offered from Sept 2015!

So many people were on the waiting list that a second after school club is being offered on a Thursday.  The first (3.45 - 4.45pm) is aimed at years 4 and 5.  The second (5 - 6pm) is ideal for years 6 and above.  As before, all material, equipment and tuition is provided.  Young people do not need to have used a sewing machine before.  This term we have some great projects organised on the theme of 'Study' and then, from November, 'Christmas'.
